Very occasionally an opportunity comes along that begs to be taken, one that you've been inwardly hoping for and know is meant especially for you. My Vietnam experience was one of those. I was challenged to grow on many levels both personally and professionally, all the while being supported by my endearing group of like-minded travel buddies. We met at the cultural boundary and together we made contact, negotiating differences, sharing similarities, and deepening our shared understandings of teaching and learning. I was touched by the warmth and the openness of the students, inspired by their dedication and felt deeply the despair of those who were impressed upon to succeed. Individually and as a group we were welcomed by principals and teachers and met in dialogue on the common ground of education. I ate, drank, shopped, danced, sang, hiked, swam, struggled, laughed and shared special moments with those crazy, beautiful people in my group - thank you so much for making memories with me!
